Founded in 1999, Professional Property Inspections is an independently owned and operated home inspection company. Our objective is to provide our clients with an unbiased, thorough, and in-depth visual examination of the structure and operating components of your home. We have built our reputation on providing our clients with prompt and professional services at a reasonable cost.

Jerry Spiva, owner and inspector, grew up in a construction environment. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and graduated from the American Home Inspectors Training Institute. After many successful years of working in industrial engineering and corporate management, Jerry advanced to the top of his career. His desire for more balance between business and family led him back to the construction industry where he refined his skills and knowledge of the industry and formed his own company. His years of technical experience, communication skills, and hand-on experience, combined with his exceptional work ethic, have resulted in his company being a leader in the home inspection field.

Jerry is a licensed home inspector in Tennesse (License #008) and a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is accredited with completing the National Home Inspectors Exam, ASHI Standards Exam, and meets all Tennessee and ASHI requirements for performing home inspections. Jerry performs a minimum of twenty continuing education credit hours each year to stay on top of the fast growing home inspection industry. He has completed continuing education courses in advanced electrical systems, indoor air quality, mold, and microbial remediation, to name a few, as well as radon measurement and radon mitigation offered by Auburn University of Business and Engineering.
